IWR6843AOP: 3D people counting configuration

Part Number: IWR6843AOP

Hello,

Using the laboratory "3D people counting" with the IWR6843AoP I cannot configure the second argument of the parameter staticRangeAngleCfg -1 1 8 4, for example, to disable static scene processing. What could be the problem? I have also tried with decimation (-1 1 8 4) and without decimation (-1 1 1 1).

Using the laboratoy "overhead 3D people countig" with the IWR6843AoP I can do it, but not with the other laboratory.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Regards,

Víctor

  • Hello

Can you please make sure the configurations you started with matches the binary image provided in the lab/demo.

Please let us know if you are trying to modify additional things on top of that.

    Thank you,

    Vaibhav

  • Thank you for your reply Viabhav,

I upload the original firmware provided in the mmwave_industrial_toolbox_4_5_1\labs\people_counting\68xx_3D_people_counting\prebuilt_binaries\3D_people_count_68xx_demo.bin and I do not modify them. I also use the chirp configuration provided in mmwave_industrial_toolbox_4_5_1\labs\people_counting\68xx_3D_people_counting\chirp_configs\AOP_6m_default.cfg. I do not modify anything but the staticRangeAngleCfg line. With the original chirp configuration the software works, but if I try to disable the static processing with -1 0 1 1 or -1 0 8 4, it fails. The chip that I use is the IWR6843AoP.

  • Hello Victor,

I have confirmed that when disabling static scene processing as you describe it, the sensor does not start outputting any data. This appears to be a bug with the current release. This will be fixed in an upcoming release of the toolbox, but for now you will need to keep static processes enabled to run the system.

    Jackson

  • Hello Jackson,

Thank you for your reply. I am looking forward to having this bug fixed. The case of static processes disable is of great interst for many applications.

    Thanks again for your support.
