TMP117: Temperature error

Part Number: TMP117

Dear TI Team

Can you tell me how the Temperature Error numbers shown in the data sheet Figure.7 (shown below) are calculated?

I think as follows.
(Temperature measured by TMP)-(Reference temperature) = (Temperature Error)

Best Regards,

Y.Ottey

  • Hi Y.Ottey,

Yes, Temperature Error is calculated (Measurement - Reference). Figure 7 plots Temperature Error in bins on the horizontal axis. This is known as a histogram.

    thanks,

  • Hi Ren

    Thank you for your reply.

I would like to ask adding question.

If you check Figure.7, there are many distributions around -10m ℃ to -30m ℃,
When our customers confirm about 300 Temperature Errors, the distribution around 10m ℃ to 30m ℃ is large.

By the way, is the data in Figure.7 measured for samples of the same lot?
I presume that the distribution of Temperature Error will differ depending on the lot.
Also, if there is any other content that may cause a difference in distribution, I would be grateful if you could share it.

    Regareds,
    Y.Ottey

  • Hi Y.Ottey,

Figure 7 represents samples from multiple lots. Devices may vary within the min and max specification for accuracy. Figure 7 shows that no samples were found to have more than 0.06C error, but we use at least 3sigma to ensure no devices shipped will exceed the min/max spec of 0.1C.

    thanks,

    ren
