AWR1843: GPIO02 and GPIO01 not detected on J5 connector

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AWR1843, AWR1843BOOST

Hello All,

I am toggling GPIO02 on AWR1843 evaluation module with frequency 0,5 Hz,
I can see that LED DS3 is blinking correctly,
however when I connect logic analyzer to J5 connector, pin number 18,
which should be GPIO02, I do not see any signal change,
all the time I see state LOW, also when I measure it
by multimeter it shows c.a. 200mV all the time.

It is similarly to GPIO01, no change visible on J5 pin
number 8 when I press SW1 button.

Does sprium4b.pdf spec shows these GPIO on J5 correctly ?

Regards

  • Hello Radoslaw,

If you refer to AWR1843Boost schematic files, You can see Pin 8 and 18 of the J5 connector have DNP components. This is called "Do not populate" sometimes interchangeably used with DNI i.e. Do not Include. These components are not not soldered by default on the board but can provide some additional functionality and allow for optional paths that increase the functionality of the board.

In case you want to you use their functionality, please solder zero ohm resistors at that place.

    Regards,

    Ishita

  • Hi Ishita,

yes, now I see it :),

    thank you
