LDC1614EVM: Re-flashing

Part Number: LDC1614EVM

Hi,

I saw the following thread;

It is written as below;

"If you bricked your EVM, you may be able to re-flash the EVM as described in the user guide by connecting the PUR pin to VUSB. "

I would like to know this procedure in a detail.

Should we tie the PUR pin and VUSB before power up?

If yes, what should we do after power up?

Best Regards,

Kuramochi

  • Hi Kuramochi-san,

    The PUR pin should be connected to VUSB before power up and then disconnected once the USB has been plugged in and shows up as “Unrecognized USB device” or similar.

    Shorting the PUR pin in this way causes the device to enter BSL mode, and this should allow for re-flashing of the firmware. You should then be able to follow the steps for Updating the EVM Firmware in section 2.9 of the User’s Guide.

    Best regards,

    Nicole

  • Hi Nicole-san,

    Thank you for your help.

    Updating does not finish the following procedure.

    Is this procedure correct?

    1. Connecting PUR pin and VUSB pin.

    2. Plugging EVM to USB connector and powered on.

    3. Showing up "Unrecognized USB device") or similar

    4. Disconnecting  PUR pin and VUSB pin

    5. Starting up GUI

    6. Updating the firmware

    Best Regards,

    Kuramochi

  • Hi Kuramochi-san,

    Yes, that would be the correct procedure. Have you already followed the steps to update the EVM firmware in section 2.9 of the User's Guide? It may not be necessary to connect PUR and VUSB, the Sensing Solutions GUI should allow you to directly upload the firmware file.

    Best regards,

    Nicole
