380Vac contacteless current sensor

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV5055, DRV425, DRV401, DRV421

Hi,

we're in search for a current sensor that hangs on a phase with V=380Vac and measures current in a range 0..100A. Normally it's done on a basis of a Hall-effect sensor. Does TI have a solution for this?

  • Hello Dmitry,

The voltage and current will limit you to our hall sensors and flux-gate sensor.  Our present hall sensors selection are more limited to sensing from a magnet and have some bandwidth and accuracy tolerances that may not meet you needs but you will need to look your specifications for that.  The DRV5055 is an option that does not have drift compensation version.  Drift compensation is meant for magnets drifting as they change strength with temperature and most of our current hall sensors do as well.

Another option we have is the DRV425 which is a flux-gate sensor.  The DRV425 is more accurate but is limited range.  We have a reference design here to show how it can be measured on a bus bar.

Both have limitations and tradeoffs.  If you are planning to add a magnetic concentrator you could use the DRV401 and DRV421 with other tradeoffs as well.
