TMP117: Conversion Cycle Period Accuracy

Part Number: TMP117

Hi,

Good day. I hope you are well.

Our customer is using the TMP117 and they need help about the accuracy of the conversion cycle period. I have copied their inquiry so no words could be lost along the way. We would appreciate your help on this matter.

"The TMP117 is programmable to have a specified conversion cycle in continuous conversion (CC) mode per Table 7 on the datasheet. I've determined my application is well suited to have 125ms conversion cycles with no averaging to measure temperatures that will be pretty stable and avoid self-heating effects. Also, the measurement duration will not exceed the desired 125ms conversion cycle duration since a single measurement only takes about 15.5ms. I was hoping I could use the 125ms periods to accurately time other functions on my microcontroller as well, but the TMP117's datasheet does not contain information about the accuracy/precision of the duration of each conversion cycle. If you have that information, may you share it with me? The answer determines if I need to switch microcontrollers for my product (homeothermic pad for anesthetized mice) since the microcontroller I have already chosen might not have adequate timer functionality."

Thank you for your help.

Regards,

Cedrick
