TMP117: Extended temperature measurement range

Part Number: TMP117

TMP117 is defined for -55C...+150C operation. The temperature register however spans from -256C...+255C. I assume that I would thus get a temperature reading also at -80C?

Has TI verified performance below -55C?

If yes: what is the achievable accuracy in -80C... -55C?

If no: is the expected performance still linear in that range?

Hi Kim,

Yes, TMP117 is capable of accurately reporting temperatures below -55C. We have observed good behavior from a sample beyond -80C.

However, I cannot make guarantees beyond the datasheet specifications.

Is there any test data/ some report for temperatures below -55C? a customer of mine wants to use it for -80C.
