TMAG5170-Q1: TEMP_COMP_EN register

Part Number: TMAG5170-Q1

Hi all,

I would like to confirm several things around temperature compensation.

Can you tell me if TEMP_COMP_EN register compensate the internal magnetic sensor? Does this register relate the register of MAG_TEMPCO?

Also, can this register be enabled when continuous conversion? In this case, which timing does this device take the temp data?

Regards,
RYO

  • RYO,

For the current silicon available the requirement for the temperature compensation is that T_CH_EN, and TEMP_COMP_EN must both be enabled to activate temperature compensation.  Once enabled, the setting in the MAG_TEMPCO register will take effect.

At final release, the T_CH_EN will not be required to enable the temperature compensation.

As far as the timing of the conversion, it will happen serially with the Hall conversions as shown in the capture below.  After the device is initialized and when operating in continuous mode, each step of the pipeline occupies approximately 25 µs .
