AWR2243: Condenser value change at 1.2V power rails

Part Number: AWR2243

Hello,

In the 1.2 power rails, PIN#R14 and #P14, 0.1u decoupling condensers are recommended in the datasheet as shown below.

Could you let me know if we can change these 0.1u with 0.22u without any behavior issues?

This is because we would like to use 0.22u here also in common with other power trail pins, if possible.

Thank you in advance for your kind advice.

  • Hello ,

You need to look at the frequency response of the cap. If the cap has low ESL then the resonance frequency of the 0.22uF might be comparable to that of the 0.1uF cap, in which case it would be good. But if the resonance frequency is much lower then it would not be able to provide the transient currents for higher frequencies.

    Regards,

    Vivek
