IWR6843ISK: development with DBSCAN source code

Dear support team,

According to mmwave_sdk_user_guide, DBscan Clustering source code is distributed. I suppose the parameter should be optimised with training data.

I am fine if you can recommend the envionrment and how to develop with the source code.

Hello Vaibhav,

Yes, we have already found the source code in your SDK and we suppose the parameter should be modified to get expected clustering result or at least the source code should be evaluated with traning data.

We guess CCS is not proper environment for this purpose and then we would like to hear your recommendation.

Please note that we recommend (and use) the group tracker library for clustering and tracking application. This is available under C:\ti\mmwave_sdk_03_05_00_04\packages\ti\alg\gtrack along-with the algorithm explanation document under

C:\ti\mmwave_sdk_03_05_00_04\packages\ti\alg\gtrack\docs\Tracking radar targets with multiple reflection points.pdf

This tracking library is used in various radar based tracking application demos available in the Industrial Toolbox such as:

1. Area Scanner for Zone Occupancy Detection

2. People Tracking and Counting

3. Traffic Monitoring

and more.

DBScan is a legacy library and not used in any of our tracking demos.

Dear Nitin,

Thank you for your message. It seems that DBSCAN may be preferred than your tracking algorithm for our purpose.

May I ask to let me know how parameters of your DBSCAN algorithm optimized to traning data can be tested if it was evaluated by your team in the past ?

(I wonder if it could be tested in Matlab.)

Hi Taka-san,

We do not have any examples or test results based on dbScan library besides the test code provided under

C:\ti\mmwave_sdk_03_05_00_04\packages\ti\alg\mmwavelib\test\lib_dbscanClustering_test.c

This code is provided as-is and not supported anymore as it was replaced by the group tracking library.
