Is the required com port visible in windows under device manager??

Good day.

Yes, the COM ports are visible under the device manager (image below). They have also tried executing multiple sample labs from the TI resource panel, but they are not able to see anything in the visualizer as mentioned earlier. They followed all the steps to set up the lab and flashed the binary following the steps described in the lab. The COM ports used were COM3 and COM4 (the same as shown in the diagram). Good day.

Yes, the instructions were followed to the T. They switched to flashing mode and then uploaded the binary, and then switched to functional mode before trying to read data. They still got an error about the COM4 port not connecting.

1. Did you press the "SEND CONFIG TO MMWAVE DEVICE" button in the configure Tab? The data COM port shows a green connected status only after the demo firmware starts sending point cloud output, for which you need to send the input configuration using the "SEND CONFIG..." button.
2. Can you share a screen shot of the mmwave visulaizer, need to see the error?
3. Also need to confirm, is the EVM flashing successfully with UNIFLASH?

Here are the answers to the questions:
(1). Yes, they pressed the button SEND CONFIG TO MMWAVE DEVICE on the Configure tab.
(2). Here is the screenshot of the MMWave visualizer, with the eventlog.csv also attached.
(3). Yes, the EVMAOP was flashed successfully with the UNIFLASH tool.

The setup and screenshot seems to be fine.  Are you sure they are flashing the OOB demo binary?

This issue sometimes occur when a different demo binary is flashed, Can you please confirm they are flashing the binary located in the link below

"...\mmwave_sdk_03_05_00_04\packages\ti\demo\xwr64xx\mmw\xwr64xxAOP_mmw_demo.bin"

My Customer is flashing the AWR6843AOPEVM the xwr68xxAOP demo. Is that the right one or should they be trying the 64 one?

They also tried binaries from other Labs in the TI Resource explorer and they also did not work.

Hi,

If the customer has other boards can they try on the other boards? The board can be replaced under warranty but if its a setup issue they will see the same problem on the replacement.

Thank you for this response. I already suggested your response to my Customer. By the way they flashed the binary present at the path you mentioned on the board, but it did not work and they got the same error as before (COM4 port not connected). Both the 64xx and the 68xx configurations.

Good day. I got a response from my customer and they tried running through this process with multiple computers, using varying COM port settings, and with multiple .bin files. They are thinking that it's definitely possible that they received a faulty board. They do not have another board to test with. Is it possible to get a replacement? At this point they have lost over two weeks of development time.
