PGA970: PGA970EVM Wave Generator

Part Number: PGA970

Hi Team,
Im am currently working with tha PGA970EVM Board and tried to mirror a known Signal for my LVDT measurement. I wanted to achieve an amplitude of 2,7 V and a frequency of 8KHz in form of a Sinus wave. Altough I was able to generate a Sinus signal with 8Khz I couldnt figure out how to increase my amplitude to 2,7V. Im currently measureing at the Pins TP19 and TP29 (P1 and P2). It seems like I cannot get the Peak to peak voltage above a value of 1,5V.

Any help would be highly appriciated!

  • I forgot to pin my current settings thats why i wrote this reply.

  • Hello,

The differential output will be limited to around 1.5-1.6V peak to peak due to the waveform bias. To achieve a larger amplitude output you will need to use external amplification. The PGA970EVM does include an example of some external amplification that you can use to evaluate this use case. Simply connect the shunt between pins 1 and 2 of the jumpers J2 and J7 to connect the amplifier circuit to the P1 and P2 outputs. You can find the output of the amplified waveform on the P1A and P2A outputs on J5.

    Regards,
