AWR1243: selection of chirp waveform(saw tooth/triangular) for FMCW radar range and velocity estimation

Whether this device will support triangular chirp signal.
Since triangular chirp signal can estimate range and doppler in one chirp itself,
Why these devices use series of saw tooth chirps for estimating the velocity/doppler.

1. for  sawtooth chirps, In 2 dimensional FFT processing for range & doppler FFT, we have to accumulate series of chirps, if the vehicle is moving fast, it may show a wrong doppler. for eg for 1m/s velocity resolution,and to detect a max doppler of 25 KHz we need 20 microsecond chirp with 64 chirps per frame.Since for better velocity resolution, we have to take more chirps in a frame, it may have ambiguity is estimation because of the velocity.

2. Whether Resolving methods are there for ghost image resolving in triangular chirp processing

3. Whether we can do frame of chirps as like sawtooth chirp for increasing the doppler resolution using triangular chirp signal .

4. MATLAB tool has one "radar waveform designer app" under phased array toolbox, when i entered the chirp parameters like chirp BW, time and no. of chirps in a frame, it is giving same doppler resolution, maximum detectable doppler, range resolution capability for both saw tooth and triangular chirp.

5. If we dont need the range doppler image, and need accurate range and velocity eatimation, whether triangular chirp can be preferred

    There are many aspects that were considered when the mmwave sensor was designed. Unfortunately most are proprietary information and can't be discussed on this forum.

    Triangular chirp is not supported.
