LDC1614EVM: Bricked Board - Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems

Part Number: LDC1614EVM

I believe I have bricked my LDC 1614EVM board because I was trying to update the firmware and the USB cable came loose and the board is now malfunctioning. I tried to re-flash the board by shorting R6 and C29 as suggested in other forums (e2e.ti.com/.../973607, but it doesn't seem to solve the problem. Any suggestions as to what to do next?

Hello,

In order to force the device into BSL mode you will need to short pins R6 and C29 and then plug in the EVM via USB. Once the EVM is plugged in, remove the wire that is shorting pins R6 and C29. The EVM should then show up as an HID device in your computer's device manager.

Can you confirm if this works?

Hello Nicole,

Unfortunately this does not happen. It comes up as a USB controller specified as "Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)" I have tried this many time and is does not work.

Hi David,

Unfortunately, it is possible that the LDC1614EVM has been damaged and cannot be recovered. In this situation, using a different EVM may be the only solution.
