Hi,

while trying to open mmWave studio 3.0.0.14 I have encountered with an exception error: "file format is not valid".

As the guide instruct I have installed:
32-bit Matlab Runtime Engine (Version 8.5.1).
Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable package

Can you assist?

Hello Yehuda,

Looks like the package was not installed properly.

Can you uninstall and install again. If that doesn't help, please delete the RSTD folder and try opening studio again. (RSTD Folder can be found in the following directory: ../Appdata/Roaming/RSTD)

There is no option to uninstall mmwave studio, do you mean to delete the folder and than reinstall?

Hello Yehuda,

Yes, please delete the parent folder as well as the RSTD folder and then try to reinstall again.

I have delete the parent folder as well as the RSTD folder, but still I get the same exception as I have posted above.

Hello Yehuda,

We have usually not seen this kind of a behavior before. It looks like the pre-requisites required for mmWave studio startup were not installed properly. Can you make sure the MATLAB runtime Engine and Microsoft Visual C++ were downloaded properly?

Also, if possible, maybe try on a different pc/laptop as well.

Hi,

I have installed:
- MMWAVE-STUDIO-2G (since i have AWR2243boost).
- Matlab Runtime Engine installed 32-bit Version 8.5.1
- Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable package.

Moreover I have installed it on a brand new computer with the same exactly issue!

Please aadvice.

Hello Yehuda,

I can't really think of why this issue could be there. This tool has been widely used by a variety of our customers and they were successfully able to use this. Is there some firewall on your pc that may be blocking the installation procedure to happen completely?

Also are you using a windows pc?

I have tried it on 2 different new Dell laptops (5511), but it had the same issue.
I have tried it on my home PC and it works good.
They are all runs Win10.
Therefore, It implies that I do install correctly all the software requirements.
But I can't figure why it is not working properly on my laptops.

Hello Yehuda,

Glad to hear it works on atleast one of your machines. But yeah, I can't really think of why it wouldn't work on others. As I said previously, maybe there are some firewalls internally blocking the installation of some files which is preventing you from opening studio.
