AWR1843BOOST: where is defined the geometry of the antenna in the MRR lab?

Hi, I am making a comparison between the DEMO lab and MRR lab, I see that the demo lab has antenna_geometry.c included in its source files and uses the function DPC_ObjDet_GetAntGeometryDef in objectdetection.c to select the antenna geometry as I understand. but the MRR lab does not use/implement any of these files/functions, so, where is defined and implemented the antenna geometry for the MRR lab?

Hi,

The MRR lab was optimized for performance using the AWR1843BOOST antenna.

If you would like to port this demo to a different antenna you may need to update the angle estimation

Please see labs\lab0007_medium_range_radar\src\dss\dss_main.c

Hi, this answer applies to the ODS board lab too (obstacle detection)? or in that lab I can change the antenna geometry to match with my custom board? (we have an antenna array like the ODS but with an AWR1843), I ask this because I have found that in the obstacle detection lab we have this:

dss_main.c:

int16_t aDOA_indList[ODSDEMO_NUM_EDOA_ANT] = {1, 2, 3, -1};
int16_t eDOA_indList[ODSDEMO_NUM_ADOA_ANT] = {0, 4, 1, 5};
uint16_t antenna2DMAP_a[ODSDEMO_MAX_RX_ANT] = {0, 0, 0, 0, 1, 1, 1, 1, 2, 2, 2, 2};
uint16_t antenna2DMAP_e[ODSDEMO_MAX_RX_ANT] = {0, 1, 2, 3, 1, 3, 3, 3};

is this the equivalent to geometry.c file of the demo lab? or do I need to check the aziEleProcessing() function like in the MRR lab?

Hi,

We will soon release an ODS lab for a 3TX antenna. I think you should wait to review that release since it includes 3Tx processing as well.

The current ODS lab includes only 2TX processing

Hi,

The BOOST antenna was developed for SRR/MRR applications. The SRR lab only runs on the AWR1643BOOST board.

Hi, you told me that MRR lab was optimized for the awr1843boost evk antennas because no antenna_geometry.c file is used in that lab, so I am asking if the same answer applies for the SRR lab (with the the awr1642 evk)

Yes, it does.

The SRR was only implemented on the xWR1642BOOST. That's why there is no support for different antennae
