TDC1000: In GUI application, the tank level is not being changed when there is a change in water level in test cell.

Part Number: TDC1000

Hi,

I have downloaded the GUI Software from the link provided and installed it as per the TDC1000-TDC7200EVM user guide.

1. The Tank level in GUI application in not being changed whenever the water level is being changed in the test cell but the TOF AVG and TOF STDEV are being varied.

2. Checked in device errors in the TDC1000TDC7200EVM user guide, it was mentioned that the port name in device manager must be TDC1000_7200_EVM if it is displaying as "MSP430-USBExample" we need to need to update the driver software. My PC is displaying the port name as USB Serial Device(COM41). Do I need to still update the driver software ?

Regards,

Hari Charan.

  • Hello Hari,

It seems like your board is not connected to the GUI, it should be displaying as mentioned on the users guide "TDC1000_7200_EVM" accompanied by the COM port number. If you question is that the device would appear as 'MSP430-USBExample' only when it needs to be updated then the answer is no. The device would appear as a USB Serial Device like what you are seeing on your end. If you are confused about which device it could be (sometimes there are more than one USB device connected to PC) disconnect the rest if possible and leave only the EVM connected.

Once identified, follow the steps listed on page 22 of the TDC1000-TDC7200EVM User's Guide in order to install the necessary drivers for the device to communicate with the PC properly. Make sure to note which COM port is connecting the device because this will need to be updated on the GUI. This should fix the issue you are having and ensure proper communication with the board and the PC.

    Best,

    Isaac
