Hello all,
my customer want's to build up a pressure sensor. The maximum distance he has to measure is 0.8mm.
To achieve the necessary accuracy he needs at least a resolution of 1µm.
Is this achievable with our device?
Best regards
Egon

Hello Egon,
Yes, I believe that this is possible. Section 8.2.6 of the datasheet has various application curves (Figures 60 through 62) that further illustrate precision and target distance, as well as the specific system setup that was used.

Hello Nicole,
we got another challenge. The housing of the pressure sensor allows only a coil diameter of 5mm.
See you still a chance to realize this?
Best regards
Olaf
Hello Olaf,
The system resolution will depend on a number of variables in addition to coil diameter, such as target size, the target material, the target orientation and distance from the sensor coil, and your noise floor.
I recommend the following application notes for the best ways to achieve high resolution:
In addition to these application notes, the Inductive Sensing Design Calculator Tool is linked in the LDC1612 product folder and can be used to calculate the optimal sensor design for your application.

Nicole
