AWR1843: Some problem about AWR1843 APP start address in SBL

Hi All,

My SBL BIN file size is 80KB.

When I use mmwave_sdk_03_05_00_04 and APP start address set 120KB in Flash.

After I do update APP action by SBL.

Then When I reset the board.

The SBL can't be executed.

But when I set APP start address 256 KB in Flash.

After I do update APP action by SBL.

Then When I reset the board.

The SBL can be execute.

I don't Know why SBL can't run that when I set APP start address 120KB in Flash.

Hi,

Looks like you have modified the SBL application, as default xwr18xx_sbl.bin is ~61KB (from mMWave SDK 3.5).

I would request you to first confirm the same experiment with default SBL binary flashed and update main-app binary using SBL.

And may be in your SBL: comment the flash erase part for a moment (which it does before loading new image listening over UART).

The default SBL binary doesn't have this problem.

But I don't know why.

I just add MCAN and DCAN in the code.

We already have one CAN based SBL in TI-Rex which you can use. This application uses CAN-FD interface to get the application image instead of UART. Please follow the user guide document from the same package.
