Hi Sir,

A customer has a installation issue on mmWaveStudio,
can you take some time to review it and give me valuable suggestions?

I'll summarize the problems of mmwave studio and send them to you.
In terms of hardware,
I am connecting IWR1443BOOST to PC by USB.
PC OS uses Windows 10 home 64 bit.

After installing and starting mmwave studio in this state,
The error shown in the attachment below occurred.

Exception message is:
DLL' RadarLinkDLL.dll ' cannot be read: the specified module is not found.
(HRESULT exception: 0x8007007E)

"Texas Instruments debug probes" was not displayed at the beginning
Only one of "XDS 110 class auxiliary data port" exists under "other ports".
Yesterday, "mmwave studio" was installed to "matlab runtime (R22021a 32bit)" and "Visual C + + 2013 (32bit)" and then reinstalled,
It's the present status now.

(I also refer to the answer example of TI company in the failure case)
However, it is still attachment 1 "mmwave studio" err.pdf Abnormal state of.

Next step, I wanna connect "DCA 1000EVM",
Because I want to do the measurement experiment of sending and receiving。

Hello Frank,

What is the version of mmWave studio they're using?

Try updating the FTDI drivers using this driver instead of the one that comes included in mmWave Studio:

Make sure to connect your DCA1000EVM and radar EVM to your PC and make sure the Windows Device manager locates and installs the drivers. Make sure all 6 COM ports (2 for the radar EVM and 4 for the DCA1000EVM) are visible in Windows Device Manager before launching mmWave Studio.

Hi Ishita,

Thank you for your FTDI driver.
Where should I put it after decompression?
Or can the unfrozen folder be specified from "properties" to "driver update" by USB in device manager "COM and LPT"?
Or just put it in the "TI" folder generated on the C drive after the "mmwave studio" installation?

The version of mmwave studio that I have installed on my PC is "02.01.00".

In addition, so as to download matlab runtime 3.5.1 32bit
I searched the home page of math works and the downloadable home page,
But I can't confirm that we can download things below version 8.
(Although the MATLAB runtime 32bit,There are many versions of home page that have not been recorded versions)
Can you introduce the main page of MATLAB runtime 3.5.1 32bit which can be downloaded?

To first answer this, No I'm not.

1. The latest mmWave Studio version is 02_01_01_00 for XWR1443. So better to download that.

2. Also, have you referred to the mmWave_studio_user_guide.pdf? Section 2 of the guide talks about startup and installation in detail. It has also has the link to 32 bit MATLAB runtime engine (Version 8.5.1).

You can find the user guide at the following location : ..\mmwave_studio_02_01_01_00\docs

3. Now regarding the FTDI drivers, are you first able to see 4 extra COM ports when you connect DCA1000 for the first time?

- If not, then how're you connecting the DCA1000 to your pc?

- If yes, please update the FTDI drivers following the procedure highlighted in section 2.3 of the above user guide. Location of the FTDI driver doesn't matter since you're anyway updating that manually.

To summarize, follow the procedure in the user guide step by step.

Thank you for your support.

Question 1: I installed 02_01_01_00 with the latest version of mmwave studio.
Question 2: I download and install matlab runtime 8.5.1 32bit
After I confirmed, I found that as we added a few days ago, the last Runtiome.dll The problem that can't be found seems to have been solved.

Question 3: when the ports (COM and LPT) attribute is updated,

"XDS 110 class application" and "XDS 110 class auxiliary data port" are displayed in the updatable driver project in PC

It can be set by selection.

However, for setting in FTDI, even if DCA 1000evm is connected,

There is no action of 4 new ports (AR-DvPack-EVM). (it's the same with restart)

It seems that the corresponding method when the port does not appear is not recorded in the user's manual.

Regarding the identification of DCA 1000evm, there is no "other" item on the device manager even if it is connected to USB.

In addition, "serial com" and "serial port" are shown.

The 4 ports of AR DvPack EVM are not displayed

If the USB cable of DCA 1000evm is removed, these two ports will disappear

The ports of DCA 1000evm are considered to be the two.

Please help me how to display 4 ports.

Hello Frank,

As you said, if you disconnect/connect the USB to DCA1000, you see the addition (or disappearance) of 2 ports and not 4. Can you check if you're connecting the micro USB to the correct port on DCA1000 i.e. RADAR_FTDI.
