I am currently trying to reflash the FPGA, but cannot find the `\mmwave_studio_xx_yy\mmWaveStudio\DCA1000FPGA\ DCA1000_FPGA_RECORD_xx_yy.bit` file, as the `DCA1000FPGA` folder does not exist in the `mmWaveStudio` folder. Is there a place where i can download just the file?

Thank you; I was following the documentation from the DCA1000_EVM datasheet, so perhaps the documentation needs to be updated

I have attempted all the debug methods listed (i.e. reflashing FPGA, disabling firewall and disconnecting WiFi) but the problem still persists. 

When I try to "Set Up DCA1000 > Connect & Configure", I keep getting this error.

A couple of questions here : 

1. Were you able to flash the FPGA firmware successfully following the steps in the user guide? 

2. What is the mmWave Studio version you're using here?

3. How is the ethernet cable connected to your PC? Is it through a hub?

4. What is the power supply rating you're using here?

5. Tried power cycling both the boards a couple of times?

2. Using 2.1.1.0

3. Ethernet cable connected via adapter but computer is (sporadically) detecting the ethernet port, and the IP address is setup correctly according to the docs

4. 5V/ max 5A

5. Yes, tried power cycling multiple times, and restarted computer a few times too.

Thanks for the information. 

Are you using a USB to ethernet adapter? Sometimes we've observed the USB to ethernet adapter is not compatible. 

The recommendation is to directly use the Gigabit Ethernet adapter on the PC. 

Also, as this issue has been addressed various times in the past by our experts, I would recommend you going through those as well (that might point to some interesting findings).

Just type "site e2e.ti.com unable to read fpga version" in you local site search engine.

Yes, I am indeed using a USB to ethernet cable provided with my ASUS laptop (https://store.asus.com/us/item/201909AM270000001). Is it not compatible? If so, may I know where I could get a suitable adapter, and what are the necessary specifications?

Yep, I have been searching for possible solutions by other people on the forums, but they mainly suggest disabling the firewall and reflashing the FPGA, which I have done as per your advice. I will, however, try to ping the FPGA address as troublehooted here.

Can you check the requirement of your USB to Ethernet adapter? It won't work if the speed is 10 or 100Mbps in case of fast Ethernet.

The DCA1000EVM supports a Gigabit Ethernet port to provide the connection to the network. You can refer to the DCA1000 user guide to know more about this requirement. I guess that requirement is enough.

Oh ok thank you! I didnt realise that my adapter was not Gigabit :( I'll go purchase one and update you again. Thanks!

UPDATE: I realised that my ethernet to USB hub is 1000Mbps = 1Gbps, so it is Gigabit compatible. However, I realised that the USB Hub has been connected to my laptop's USB 2.0 instead of USB 3.0 port; this may have limited it's ability to tether in Gbps.

I will try again and update!

I've updated my drivers, affirmed that it is a Gigabit Ethernet port and ensured that I am plugged into the correct USB3.0 port. The connection is being detected on my computer as I am now able to ping it.

Did I get some settings incorrect?

One question here, are you still getting the same error even after changing from USB 2.0 to 3.0 or is it something different now?
