AWR2243: The relationship between transmit power and frequency range from 76GHz to 81GHz

Part Number: AWR2243

Hi,

From the AWR2243 spec, we can know that the Output power of Transmitter is 13 dBm, but i'm not sure that with frequency changing from 76GHz to 81GHz, the power will be different or not ?

Thanks.

  • Hello JWD,

The device supports output power of 13dB across the entire RF band.

TX Power may vary across process or temperature (reduces as temperature increases) and there may be a larger roll off across frequency as well. But for that purpose, the device supports internal calibration of these parameters.

The purpose of calibration is to ensure the TX output power is maintained as configured by the user despite variations in process, temperature or frequency.

Please refer to the following Application note which talks about Self-Calibration of mmWave Radar Devices (Rev. A)

    Hope this clarifies your concerns.

    Regards,

    Ishita
