How to monitor awr1843 using tera term?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AWR1843

Hi! All!

We followed this great guide line: ti\mmwave_automotive_toolbox_3_2_0\labs\lab0011_mrr_beamsteering\docs\mrr_2_0_Getting_Started_Guide.pdf

When we try to use the function mrr_beamsteering with awr1843, we use this firmware: ti\mmwave_automotive_toolbox_3_2_0\labs\lab0011_mrr_beamsteering\prebuilt_binaries\xwr18xx_mrr_demo.bin

Successfully use the pre-built binaries and set up all the details to see the result of BeamSteering function.

And we try to use tera term to monitor awr1843, the user port and data port are com port 12 and com port 11. However, we can not use user port to send the command and can not use data port to recognize the output of awr1843. The baud rate is 115200 and 921600 respectively. Already set the Dip Switch SOP2=OFF.

Is there any help? I'm very appreciate for your help! Thank you!

Best regard,

Webb

  • Hello Webb,

I hope you are able to flash the pre-built binary image to AWR1843 device and post that set the device in functional mode & reset. (as mentioned in the getting-started-pdf).

Please follow the instruction (step-3) from the same document to run the Visualizer (gui\MRRvisualization\mRR_Viz_1_4.exe)

This will connect the app to the auxiliary COM port to read the object result from the device.

This LAB application doesn't take any input over CLI so even though you connect to User/Application COM port, you won't see any log/result on this COM port.

So please run the visualizer exe.

    Regards,

    Jitendra
