TMP392: Effect of resistance change for Trip temperature

Part Number: TMP392

Hello team,

I received a question from my customer about the resistance change during operation of TMP392.

When the resistance value of the SETA/SETB changes due to temperature changes while supplying power to VDD of TMP392, does the TRIP TEMPERATURE also changes?

We would appreciate it if you could give us a comment about it.

Best Regards,

Ryotaro Fukui

  • Hi Fukui-San,

    Thank you for your post.

Per section 7.3 of the datasheet:

The device [TMP392] powers on when the supply voltage goes beyond 1.5 V, and starts sampling the input resistors to set the two trip points and hysteresis value after power-on. These values will remain the same until the device goes through a power cycle.

The trip point temperature is only sampled once at startup. If the resistor values were to change while the TMP392 was still powered on, it does not affect the set trip point.

  • Hi Fisher-san,

I finally got a reply from the customer that all their questions about this device has been solved and would like to declared this case closed.

    Thank you for the help.
