Hi,

Can you please let me know, if it's possible to differentiate the angle values of Elevated Plane and horizontal plane? While using AWR1642 OR AWR1843

The reason to this question is while testing AWR1642 in Vehicle, I am getting building roof as one of the Obstacle, I was initially confused, but after few iterations, I came to know that it's the roof that's marked as an obstacle.

Can you please let me know, if there is a Solution to differentiate?

The antenna patterns of the AWR1642BOOST and AWR1843BOOST are different in the sense that the AWR1843BOOST has a third transmitter that is offset on the board to help resolve in the elevation plane.

The AWR1642BOOST does not resolve much in the elevation plane. Since the the transmit antennas are lined up side by the side, there is not much of a way to resolve detections in the elevation plane. Instead, this antenna was fine-tuned to resolve a much larger field-of-view in the azimuth plane.

Both of the user guides for the AWR1642BOOST and AWR1843BOOST include sections provided detailed descriptions of the antenna patterns.

Hi,

I am using AWR1642BOOST EVM as of now for testing, Is there any specific way or process that can be used to differentiate?

The AWR1642BOOST EVM has all of the virtual antennas on the same plane. As a result, detections can only be differentiated along the aziumth plane. The angular resolution will be a function of the number of TX and RX antennas that are enabled in your particular configuration.
