FDC1004: Mesh ground

Hello team,

My customer is trying to build prototype of FDC1004 flood level measurement.

In order to reduce the offset capacitance, they are considering to use mesh shaped ground electrode.

So, could you please advice the trace width so the offset is minimized?

    Hello Itoh-san,

    I recommend the following FDC1004 Capacitive Sensing FAQ to get started with FDC1004 system designs.

    It may be necessary to calibrate the system capacitance offset due to sources such as the parasitic capacitances of the board traces, as well as the capacitance of other connections between the board and the FDC. Up to approximately 1 pF of capacitance can be removed by using the capacitance offset calibration register.
