AWR2243: Unused LO output ports

Hi Team,

My customer is designing the schematic for AWR2243 cascade application. But there are the differences between AWR2243 cascade application note(SWRA574B) and EVM schematic(MMWCAS-RF-EVM) on unused LO output ports(FMCW_CLKOUT, FMCW_SYNCOUT) like an attached file. Which one is correct? Please let me know it and share that with me if you have the document of latest version.

I didn't quite understand your concern. What is the difference between the Application note and schematic in terms of LO output ports?

As far as I can see, the information is consistent. If unused, the LO output ports can be left floating.

Are you sure the same even though 4-chips cascade design is considered as well?

I found the keeping pin-float is recommended for single chip usecase (only) according to schematic design guide.

Please clarify how to handle those unused pins in case 4 chips cascade usscase design.

One more thing to be cleared, what's the exact meaning of "unused terminated to 50 ohm" ?

The unused pins can be unconnected if the output is disabled accordingly. It's same opinion with Ishita. ^__^;;

The unused FM_CW_SYNCOUT/CLKOUT pins can be left unconnected if the output is also disabled in the AWR_CHAN_CONF_SET_SB, using the "FM_CW_CLKOUT_MASTER_DIS " or " FM_CW_SYNCOUT_MASTER_DIS" parameters.

Refer to the Interface Control Document (in the mmwave DFP package) for more details on the API.
