AWR1843BOOST: What data is stored in adcData.bin file

Hello,

I am using an AWR1843BOOST with DCA1000 for the data capture.

1. How do I get a Radar Cube from the adc_Data.bin file generated after post_proc in mmwave studio...!?

2. Assuming I do get the 3D/4D complex data (radar cube), what exactly do those points signify and how can I get the values of range, velocity and angle estimation.

I need these to try to get a radar spectrum...!

Hello Vipul,

DCA1000 capture card helps you capture the raw ADC data from the AWR device.

For analyzing this data and extracting range, velocity information from this, you would need to process the data using some algorithms. TI provides reference MATLAB script examples for processing the raw captured ADC data. It is present in the below directory:

C:\ti\mmwave_studio_<version>\mmWaveStudio\MatlabExamples.

For guidance, please refer to mmWave_Studio_user_guide.pdf (Look for Post Processing of bin files using Matlab outside mmWaveStudio).

Thank you for the reply...! I have gone through the documentation and have used the MATLAB script provided in the ADC_Raw Data Capture file. The problem is, I am having a hard time to interpret the data that I am getting from it...!

It is a complex matrix and I would like to know further about what exactly the data is and whether I can use this data to get the range, velocity and angle estimation.
