AWR1642: mmWave for detection through foliage

Part Number: AWR1642

I am trying to find a sensor that I might be able to use to detect objects hidden by light foliage. A rock in tall grass for example. I saw many examples of these sensors working in sand, fog, etc in a couple white papers and the AWR/IWR chip family page, but nothing specifying foliage "transparency".

Does anyone know of whether TI perhaps has any information in this domain? The wavelengths seem larger than necessary to pass through a grassy environment, but I figured I would ask here. I am also open to more appropriate solutions if perhaps I massed another sensor family.

Thanks!
