Hello Sebastian,
When was the device bought from your side? Was it purchased from the TI website?
Regards,
Ishita
Hi Ishita,
be bought the device at the German Mouser Store about four weeks ago.
Since then we are discussing with Mouser what to do. To get an RMA, the Mouser technician wants us to ask here in the forum if this is a known/common issue.
Personally, I find it a strange question from them, nevertheless we need a working unit and thus some sort of replacement.
Regards,
Sebastian
Hello Sebastian,
Did you try to initially power the board on when you received it? If so, can you please provide the specs of the power supply you used?
Each board is tested after assembly so it should not have been sent to you with a short.
Regards,
Ishita
Hi Ishita,
we tried it with a 12-W USB power supply from Apple, this is specified with 5V, 2.4 A max.
In 2.6 Power Connections of the "User's Guide 60GHz mmWave Sensor EVMs", different configurations for board power are mentioned, one for 5V and one for higher voltages. I tested both configs, the short occurs with any of them.
Regards,
Sebastian
Hi Sebastian,
Just for clarity, Can you explain what you mean by short?
Also can you share a picture of the front and back of the board?
Regards,
Charles O
Hi Charles,
by short I mean there is no resistence (<1 Ω) between the + and - poles, measured at the power connector.
Here are the pictures of the board:
