MMWCAS-DSP-EVM: No serial communication available.

Hi, finally I found the correct manual (for the cascade radar). Chapters 1 through 4 work fine. All hardware is present, USB and Ethernet cable connected, addresses are set properly. The SD card is flashed and verified. Version is 3_7_1 and the name of the card is ROOT.

Software is installed (even though mmwave Studio has problems  (on machine 1) in starting the Matlab Runtime engine and (on machine 2) Matlab won't find a dll most probably due to a 32-bit/64-bit issue that is unresolved ). USB drivers are installed and two ports are identified as soon as the USB cable is connected.

I have puTTY and Tera Term on both machines.

Powering the DSP and the connected RF, LEDS are on. But... 

puTTY cannot open the ports (COM3 or COM4) at all. Tera Term enumerates COM3 and COM4 but shows no response when the DSP is reset. 

What is wrong?

    Hello Harald,

    Are you entering the parameters as mentioned in the user guide below?

    Sometimes, it doesn't connect if the COM port is engaged (I myself have faced this a couple of times). Please make sure the COM port you're trying to use is available. Restarting the PC sometimes helps here in case you aren't sure where the COM port is engaged.
