AWR1843BOOST: What applications will there be a need to integrate another microcontroller board like the Launchpad

Hi Team,

The AWR1843BOOST board already has an onboard microcontroller. Our customer would like to know in what applications will there be a need to integrate another microcontroller board like the TI Launchpad. He also wants to know is he can use the Cortex R4F controller on AWR1843BOOST for developing custom applications or does he need to integrate another MCU board to AWR1843BOOST?

    Hi,

    The purpose of the Cortex R4F is to develop custom applications.

    Please ask our customer to take a look at the mmWave SDK demo that runs on both the R4F and the DSP

    www.ti.com/.../MMWAVE-SDK

    The Launchpad interface can be used to communicate with another processor such as MSP430.

    This can be done for example if one wishes to establish an SPI communication between the AWR1843BOOST and MSP430
