AWR1443: Multiple vital sign applications

Part Number: AWR1443

Hi Team,

We would like to asked your help regarding the customer's inquiry below.

I want to measure multiple people's vital signs in a room. I know the AWR1443 is a phased-array radar. So, I need to form the beam to find the direction of the subjects.

My question is that would this radar be able to solve this problem?

May I do real-time processing with this radar? Does it have any backbone coming with the radar? or we should purchase another module?

Also, is there any Python library through which I can connect the radar to a processor for a real-time beamforming?

Thank you for your support!

Regards,

Danilo

  • Hi Danilo

Have you seen the Vital Signs Lab on TIREX?

In its current state the demo uses the sensor to detect the vital signs of a single subject at a distance of about 1 meter.

For multiple people at longer distances there would be some algorithm work required on behalf of customer but mmWave is definitely suitable for this application.

Unfortunately we do not have Python libraries.

    Regards,
