TMP422-Q1: Question for the setting of "two-Wire Interface Slave Device Addresses"

We have a design issue for the device addresses of TMP422-Q1 setting.

Setting following.

We design it for I2C address "1001 111"(0x4F), but the device addresses is "1001 110"(0x4E) that we detect.

DX3 and DX4 connect to arria 10 device(10AX032E).

Do you have any suggestion for this?

The address is detected by the polarity of the embedded junction of the Arria 10 device. The TMP422-Q1 may not be detecting the polarity it expects.

Is the Arria 10 device powered on when encountering the problem?

Additionally, does the TMP422-Q1 read the temp correctly despite the wrong address?

Does I2C address of TMP422 detect continuously or detect once at TMP422 IC startup?

Our design sequence is Arria 10 power on about 3ms after TMP422 starts,does this cause a problem?

Frank,

Yes the TMP422-Q1 detects the I2C address on device startup. It will also detect the address upon software reset.

Can you try providing a software reset after the Arria 10 is powered on? This may correct the expected address.

Alternatively, you can try changing the design sequence to power on the Arria 10 before the TMP422-Q1.
