I am using the TI AWR2243 cascade board with the MMWCAS-RF-EVM (Rev-E) connected to the MMWCAS-DSP-EVM.

mmWave studio software: version 03_00_00_14

mmWave DFP Firmware: version 02_02_02_01

I found an interesting Youtube video on the "Texas Instruments" Youtube channel that shows a generated heat map with tracked 3D points (from min 1:21 to min 1:38) using the same AWR2243 evaluation modules. The video link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=68kRRNlyggg

I have two main questions:

  1. How can I process the captured data and generate the same heat map with tracked 3D points, as in the video? 
  2. How can I process the mmWave radar data in real-time, as in the video?

    The data in the video is not processed in real time. It was captured and post processed.

    We have third parties such as Smart Radar Systems which provide real time processing solutions.

    You would need to develop post processing functions to generate the heatmaps.

    Our team only releases the cascade matlab post processing scripts provided in mmWave Studio.

    Customers can use them as starting points and further develop them
