How do I send and receive a private message on E2E?

Hi,

I'm trying to send a private message to my E2E friend. When I click Send Message button, the ACCESS DENIED notification pops up. I tried multiple times using different browsers, PCs and OSs but every time received the same ACCESS DENIED notification.

Please show me the way to overcome this issue.

    Hi Michael,

      I know you said the other participant was an "E2E friend", and did you get a notification they accepted your Friend Request?

    When you click on your avatar in the upper right of the page, then click Profile, the Friends, does this member appear on the Friends list?

    Hi Leonard,

    Actually it was me who accepted request. And yes, that member appears on the list. I just tried one more time and sure enough received the same notification as appears below. So what should I do with that error?

    Hi Michael,

      Click on your avatar, then click Settings, look at E2E email preferences. 

    Under E2E notifications, be sure  

    • Enable conversation notifications 

    is checked. 

    And then under the   Allow conversations from 

    be sure None or Friends only are not set (I have All users enabled)

    Let me know if these are set properly.

    I changed settings as per your suggestions.
    Access is still denied. :(

    Just to close this one out, here's how we resolved it.

    As an admin, I impersonated DO-Pro and successfully sent a PM to his Friend in question.  After this, I added DP-Pro as a Friend and successfully was able to PM back and forth with him.

    Assuming something was amiss with the Friend connection, I had DO-Pro delete the Friend and re-request friendship.  Once the new request was accepted, DO-Pro could send PMs to the Friend.
