Do not bind Part Number to a forum

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TDA4VM

I DO have a Part Number "TDA4VM", and I DO want to post a thread to here: the Site support forum.

But if I filled part number into input box, then I cann't select any forum, because I was frozen to "processor forum".

But I DO want to ask a question about the forum itself, not the processor!

SO DO NOT BIND PN TO A FORUM. It's unreasonable.

  • Hello Keelung,

The automatic selection of Forum when using a specific part number is a specified feature of E2E.  The Site Support Forum is for issues concerning the E2E features, not devices, for example, how to insert a picture in an E2E post.

Please provide feedback as to why you would want to use Site Support for a specific part number.  We appreciate your feedback, and specific part number inquiries will remain associated with a specific Forum.

    Regards,

    ~Leonard

  • Because:

    1. this warning: "If you don't provide a part number, responses may be delayed". if I selected "I don't have a part number"
    2. confusing logicality, especially for new users: I do have a PN. And I do want to ask a question about the site, but I can't if have a PN.

  • Hello Keelung,

When a valid part number is specified in the SUBJ, the posting is routed directly to the Product Group responsible for that device.  If no valid part number is specified, then first an additional step to determine which Product Group would best answer the question/inquiry has to occur.

Please clarify or give an example of what question about the site you might have that would be related to a specific part number.

    Regards,

    ~Leonard

  • I know exactly whether a subject is related to a specific part number.

It's that you, the site, this forum, request me fill my part number.

AND, warning me, if I have no, the reply will be DELAY.

I DO HAVE A PN. IF YOU REQUEST IT, THEN I FILL IT. IT'S OK?

I WANT TO POST THREAD TO HERE, EVEN IF I HAVE AND I DO HAVE A PN.

  • Hello Keelung,

You are free to post where you want.  The statement about not designating the part number in the SUBJ says "MAY be delayed", not "WILL be delayed".

Please let us know what the question is and we will be happy to Reply.

    Regards,

    ~Leonard
