Is TS3USB221A suitable to use for optical digital selection using SPDIF signal?

It's two SPDIF input to 1 output.

If not, can you kindly recommend what part can I get to do that?

What is the data rate on the SPDIF? Also, is it single-ended or differential signaling?

The TS3USB221A can handle frequencies up to 900Mhz no problem. I would also encourage you to look at the TS3USB221E, as it has the same ESD ratings as the TS3USB221A, but higher bandwidth capabilities.

So TS3USB221A can actually switch S/PDIF signals apart from USB signals?

The frequency is fine for TSUSB331A.

Single ended signaling.
