What is the data rate on the SPDIF? Also, is it single-ended or differential signaling?
The TS3USB221A can handle frequencies up to 900Mhz no problem. I would also encourage you to look at the TS3USB221E, as it has the same ESD ratings as the TS3USB221A, but higher bandwidth capabilities.

Hello Ivy,
If the signal swings of the S/PDIF signals are in the range of 0V-5.5V and it will perform just fine with the on-state resistance being 6 ohms, then I don't see any problem with sending S/PDIF signals through the device.
