SN74CBTLV3126: datasheet table 8.4.1 (function table) clarification

Part Number: SN74CBTLV3126

Hi Team,

My customer is using SN74CBTLV3126 to isolate i2c signals and want to confirm whether in datasheet function table 8.4.1 it means that the B side does not need to be pulled up when A side is with a pull -up?

Thanks!

Patty

  • When the switches are enabled, the two sides are connected directly to each other, so the A pull-up will also affect the B side.

When the switches are disabled, the two sides are disconnected, and any signals without a pull-up will float.

  • Hi Patty,

The device will be in high impedance when the OE pin is low, effectively isolating the two sides of the switch.

However, it is recommended to have both sides of the switch pulled up as floating the unused I2C lines can pick up noise and could adversely affect the application.

    Hope this helps!

    Thanks!

    Bryan
