SN74LVC2G53: Difference between SN74LVC2G53 and TS5A3154

Part Number: SN74LVC2G53
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TS5A3154

Hi Team,

What is the difference between SN74LVC2G53DCUR and TS5A3154DCUR?

They look like P2P solution and I only see the bandwidth is differential, SN74LVC2G53 is 300MHz and TS5A3154 is 100MHz. Do they have other difference?

Best regards,

Hardy

  • Hey Hardy,

While these devices do share pinouts and configurations there are some pretty significant differences here. For example, the TS5A3154 will have extra features such as being powered-off protected, meaning that you can safely apply a voltage to the I/O pins when the device is powered down. It will also have make-before-break switching. So it will make the connection to the selected pin before breaking the previously selected connection. You can learn more about the features here : Selecting the Correct Texas Instruments Signal Switch

Outside of the features and into the actual specs, the TS5A3154 will have a lower On-Resistance (RON) and higher On-Capacitance (CON) while the SN74LVC2G53 will have the inverse, a lower CON and higher RON. The TS5A3154 is also matched better between the different channels as well.
The last significant thing to note would be the VIH/VIL levels wouldn't be the exact same across these devices. There will slight changes to take note of.

Let me know if there's anything more specific that you may have questions about this.

    Thanks!
    Rami
