SN74CBTLV3257: Difference between SN74CBTLV3257PWR and 74CBTLV3257PWRG4

Hello Expert,

I have question for this device.

I found follow device on TI.com's Ordering & Quality.

SN74CBTLV3257PWR
74CBTLV3257PWRG4

Also TI.com said 74CBTLV3257PWRG4 same as 74CBTLV3257PWRE4.

On the other hands, TI.com said there isn't same part as SN74CBTLV3257PWR but it said SN74CBTLV3257RGYR same as 74CBTLV3257RGYRG4.

Then could we regarding SN74CBTLV3257PWR same as 74CBTLV3257PWRG4?

I found this E2E thread but there isn't any discussion regarding "SN" and non-"SN" so I cannot distinguish whether we can regard that both are same.

The "SN" prefix does not have any meaning that is relevant here, and is omitted if the name would become too long otherwise.

The "E4"/G4" suffixes do not make any difference because all devices are green nowadays; see this FAQ.

Hi Kazuki,

SN74CBTLV3257PWR and 74CBTLV3257PWRG4 are the same device. Similar to the E2E thread linked you linked, the E4/G4 was previously used to designate the device as green/lead free but TI has now made all devices green/lead free. The part numbers were kept available so that customers have a consistent orderable part number.

I understand non-SN and additional G4/E4 suffix would not be difference so both device we can regard same parts nowadays.
