TS5A3160: 1 ohm SPDT switch with operating supply <1.65v?

Part Number: TS5A3160
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMUX1219, TMUX1574, TMUX1136, TMUX1575

engineer is seeking a 1ohm SPDT switch that can operate on analog supply, similar to TS5A3160, but searching for the same type of switch, but can take lower input voltage around 1.59V.

After reviewing our 1ohm on resistance switches, it appears they all have a min analog operating supply of 1.65V, so I suspect this is a process limitation.

I did find the TMUX1219, which has a wider analog supply range, but it has higher on resistance of 3 ohms which is not acceptable.

Does the product team have other product suggestions?  Am I overlooking an option?

  • Hi Carl,

We do not have a single channel device with the specifications that the customer is searching for but they could change the configuration to achieve the performance.

To lower the RON, the customer can use parallel paths for the signal. A 2 channel or 4 channel device in a configuration similar to below would divide the RON by the number of channels being used. A 2 channel recommendation would be TMUX1136 and 4 channel recommendations would be TMUX1574, TMUX1575(WCSP packaged only), or TMUX1136. The TMUX15xx devices have a single select pin so all channels would switch at the same time (likely best choice for this configuration) and the TMUX113x devices have select pins for each channel. Something to keep in mind is that tying the channels together decreases the bandwidth.

    Thanks,
    Tyler
