TS5A3159A: In pin pull down resistor value

Part Number: TS5A3159A

Hi Team,

My customer use 100k ohm resistor but they found that the discharge speed is too slow cause sequencing problem. So, we would like to check if we can decrease this resistor value because we don't see the recommended value in datasheet. Could you please suggest the pull down resistor value on IN pin? Thanks.

Best regards,

Hardy

  • The TS5A3159A itself cares only about the voltage it sees at the pin. Use whatever resistor is suitable for the circuit.

  • Hi Hardy,

There is not really a limit from the multiplexer standpoint on how small/strong of a pull-down resistor you use. It is more about the tolerances of your system in terms of allowable leakage current through that resistor and the propagation/timing delays that are sufficient to meet your application.

As long as you can source the current needed from the resistor to GND and keep the full voltage across the resistor and into the logic pin, there should be no issues with what pulldown resistor you choose.

    Thanks!
