SN74CBTLV3245A: Can I leave the SN74CBTLV3245A unused pin floating?

Hi Team,

I have a question about the unused pin.

1. If I only use 1~6 channel and leave 7~8 channels unused. Can I leave the channel 7 and 8 input and output port floating?

2. What will be the risk if I leave input and output floating? And if I have to leave it floating, will it influence the other channels?

Hello Lucas,

Leaving the unused channels floating will likely not cause any issues with your system but it is best practice to ground them through a 50 ohm resistor. At higher frequencies there is a possibility of noise coupling and crosstalk.
