SN74CB3Q3253: Whether it supports Hotswap and how to know it from datasheet

Hi Team,

Our customer is wondering whether this socket could handle hot swap. I noticed in datasheet as below.

I have two questions now:

1. Can this socket handle hot swap? Could u please clarify the principle it can handle hot swap?

2. If customer use this in their system , could u give some advice?

The application note Logic in Live-Insertion Applications With a Focus on GTLP defines three levels of isolation. With I_off and /OE, the SN74CB3Q3253 supports level 2.

Hey Victoria,

Is the customer looking for hot swapping (Live insertion) or hot insertion? As Clemens noted here, with the Ioff and /OE features the device will support hot insertion (Level 2 isolation from the app report Clemens linked) but does not precharge the outputs so wouldn't meet the requirements for level 3 hot swapping.

For recommendations, please follow the design and power supply requirements from the datasheet.
