SN74LV4052A-Q1: Usage of analog multiplexer for digital bus

Part Number: SN74LV4052A-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMUX4052-Q1, TMUX1309-Q1

Hello to everybody,

I would ask if is feasible to use the ic SN74LV4052AQPWRQ1 to switch two digital signals (from a SPI around ~500kHz) between 3 IC.

I need to route two signals to three shift registers and address one of them at a time.

The TWO signals are in opposite direction so a standard multiplexer (74HC153PW) cannot be used, PCB space is limited to 1 IC, TSSOP or smaller if possible.

The signals are at 5V level, the switch resistance is not a problem if below ~100 ohm (since damping resistors 100~220 ohm will be foreseen anyway on the bus signals).

The 74CBT3253PW series should better match the application, but is not AECQ-qualified (AFAIK only the 3.3V variant is AECQ).

The SN74LV4052AQPWRQ1 , designed mainly for analog applications, is useful or there is something better I can use?

There are special cares to use (current-limit resistors, etc.) in the application?

Best regards

Alessandro
