TS3DV642 HDMI2.1 switch

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TS3DV642

1.TS3DV642 is allowed to achieve a typical bandwidth of up to 7.5 GHz.

However, the Niquist frequency of HDMI 2.1 is 6 GHz.

Why not TS3DV642 supports HDMI 2.1? Datasheet Claims "for HDMI 2.0"

2.Is there a passive switch solution that supports HDMI2.1 8K ?

  • Hi,

You want to have the passive MUX bandwidth to be double or triple the Nyquist frequency of the data rate. In this case you need a passive MUX that can support at least 12GHz bandwidth which is outside the TS3DV642 supporting capability.

We currently do not have passive MUX that can support HDMI2.1, but it is on our video product portfolio roadmap.

    Thanks

    David
