TMUX1574: TMUX1574 - Switching between two sim cards. Baseband provides power to both sim card, can mux handle pull down for floating signal pins?

Part Number: TMUX1574

I'm considering using TMUX1574 to switch between two sim cards just like the illustration posted below. The GSM modem provides power to the SIM_VCC so both sim connectors will always be powered even when the mux is switched off.

When I'm multiplexing between two sim connectors, one sim card will be still left powered with no signal and the signal pins could potentially be floating. Is the mux able to pull down the floating pins or should I add a pull down resistor to each signal line?

  • Hello Cho,

The Tmux1574 does not have integrated pull down resistors on the io pins. So for this device I think you need to add pull down resistors tied to ground through a 50 ohm resistor  to each  signal line.

Here is an FAQ that goes into more detail on this topic.
