TMUX6208: TMUX6208: Single Ended Anlaog Signal Measurement

Hi,

I have connected the signle ended analog input signals (0-5V) to the Source pins of TMUX6208. So, I have provided 5V to VDD pin of the IC and VSS is directly tied to GND. Is it fine?

Or Shall I need to connect VSS pin to -5V rail? If -5V is not required for VSS pin, then is it fine that I have tied VSS directly to GND or I need to connect VSS pin to GND through a capacitor mentioned in datasheet?

Please suggest.

If your signals are not negatice, then you do not need a negative supply.

A capacitor between GND and GND would be useless.

Hi Clemens,

Thanks for the confirmation. In that case, I will Just connect a 0.1uF capacitor from VSS pin to GND pin.

But you need only a capacitor between V_DD and GND.

Hi Clemens,

I have already connected a capacitor between VDD and GND. But, in datasheet it is mentioned that an another capacitor is requied from VSS pin to GND.

So, should I connect VSS pin directly to GND or through a capacitor to GND.

That description is unclear. The capacitor is needed only if VSS is connected to a voltage other than GND.

Hi Aakash,

Clemens is spot on here. The description for using a capacitor between Vss and GND is only for dual supply cases. If only using single supply at Vdd and connection Vss to ground, then no capacitor is needed between Vss and GND.
