The SN74LV works only at lower voltages, and does not support voltages below GND (pin 7 also is GND).

The TMUX has better analog characteristics, i.e., higher bandwidth, less crosstalk, etc.; and supports 1.8 V control signals at all supply voltages.

Pretty much all electrical characteristics are different. But for handling digital signals at 5 V, they can replace each other.
